Code Academy LMS & Career Platform
Our own learning and career platform: courses, batches, lessons, quizzes, assignments, attendance, messaging and verifiable certificates — with one account per person that can grow from student to intern to developer.
1 accountper person, many roles
6portals, from student to admin
46student records imported cleanly
Running a code academy and a software house together creates a lot of moving parts: students, batches, mentors, teachers, interns, developers and hiring — each needing a different view, and students must never see each other's private data.
Spreadsheets and chat groups don't scale, and heavyweight platforms didn't fit the way we teach: small batches, reviewed work and a real path into the software house.
- One account per person, many roles. Roles such as student, intern, developer, mentor, teacher and HR are granted with dates and scope, so a person's history — from student to staff — stays in one place.
- Student dashboard with progress, grades, quizzes, attendance, portfolio and certificates, combined into a career-readiness score.
- Mentor and teacher portals limited to their own batches and courses: attendance, reviews of assignments, evaluations and messaging.
- Batch and direct messaging designed to keep server and database load low.
- Careers: job listings, applications and an HR review pipeline.
- CSV import that matches existing people instead of duplicating them, plus an audit log of admin actions.
- Verifiable certificates, open to anyone.
- Built with plain PHP 8 and MySQL/MariaDB — fast, simple to host and easy to maintain.
- The academy, the software-house website and hiring now run on one platform with one login per person.
- Students from our earlier verification site were imported without duplicates.
- Mentors and teachers see only what they're responsible for; students see only their own records.
